As part of the Earth4All national engagement strategy for Austria, the Austrian Chapter of The Club of Rome is organising a series of workshops on the Earth4All turnarounds. On 17 May, The empowerment turnaround: change through new (gender) power relations? will explore the empowerment turnaround with three keynote speeches and a panel discussion on the implementation of the empowerment policy levers in the Austrian context.
The empowerment turnaround proposes three key levers:
- All governments ensure the rights of women and girls to education.
- All companies and public bodies achieve gender parity in leadership positions.
- All governments guarantee universal social protection and establish adequate universal pension systems.
The focus will be on more stable societies, gender equality in leadership positions and a new conceptualization of education as well as diverse social power relations that we need to look at and whose dynamics need to be understood and, if necessary, changed.
