Earth4All

En jord för alla – Earth for All in Swedish

Today Earth for All: A Survival Guide for Humanity was published in Swedish, available in both hardcopy and as an epub via the publishers Natur and Kultur.

Earth for All: A Survival Guide for Humanity was published in English and German in September 2022 and is now also available in Swedish, Japanese, and Italian. Further language versions will be published soon.

We have crossed a number of planetary boundaries and widespread inequality causes instability for the planet and our societies. Earth4All presents five extraordinary turnarounds – the minimum actions we need to take now to achieve wellbeing for all on a relatively stable planet.

The book is based on a two-year research collaboration project, bringing together leading scientists and modellers with economists from around the world. Main contributors include Johan Rockström, director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Anders Wijkman, Honorary president of The Club of Rome & member of the International Resource Panel, and David Collste, Postdoc at the Stockholm Resilience Centre.

“The Earth4All message is of particular importance in Sweden at this moment in time because we had a change of government recently whose ambitions with regard to both climate change, ecosystem decline and helping the poor are put into question. Furthermore, Sweden is a country where conventional economists are more conventional than in most countries. The belief in conventional growth is cemented and there is little openness for the kind of approaches entertained by Earth4All,” commented Wijkman.

Alternative Davos address: global leaders unveil vision for ‘prosperity within planetary boundaries’

A group of globally respected leaders including Johan Rockström and Sandrine Dixson-Declève have delivered a bold alternative vision of prosperity in Davos today ahead of Donald Trump’s address setting out his own economic agenda at the World Economic Forum.

Leaders must choose shared prosperity over fossil-fuelled growth

As political and business leaders gather at Davos, a powerful coalition of over 20 leading economists, businesspeople and scientists have signed a call for attendees to show “serious leadership” to safeguard humanity from climate and ecological collapse and redefine prosperity for the 21st century.
